Who are we?

Katrine Prowting, MSc PT

Katrine completed her BSc in Human Kinetics at the University of Windsor (Canada) and her MSc in Physiotherapy at Kings College London (UK). She has previously worked as a personal trainer and currently holds the following Physiotherapy certifications: Neurodevelopmental Technique, Acupuncture, Barefoot Training Specialist.


Katrine is employed at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare and specializes in working with individuals with neurological deficits, such as stroke patients. She has previously worked with the British Olympic Diving team and at multiple orthopaedic clinics in both Canada and the UK. Her career goals are to continue to develop her expertise in neurological physiotherapy and to become an internationally recognized authority on endurance athlete injury management and prevention.


Katrine's greatest passion is health and fitness. She is currently training for the 2021 Lake Placid IronMan competition and has previously competed in Ice Hockey, Baseball, Snowboarding, Rowing, and Olympic Lifting. She also enjoys baking healthy creations, or enjoying anything coated with peanut butter!

Joel Prowting, MSc, CSCS

Joel completed his BSc in Sport & Exercise Science at the University of Hertfordshire (UK), his MSc in Exercise Physiology at the University of Oklahoma (USA), and is currently working on his Ph.D. in Kinesiology and Health Science at York University (Canada). He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Phlebotomy Technician (PBT).


He is passionate about science and has authored a number of research papers in the areas of sports nutrition and sleep physiology. He also has experience training NCAA Division 1 American Football and Basketball athletes as well as with professional and semi-professional endurance athletes. His career goal is to become a tenured university professor, researching how nutrition can be used to attenuate the negative effects of acute injury and chronic disease.


In his spare time, Joel lives a dichotomous existence between being a nerd and a jock. He loves lifting weights, hiking outdoors, and engaging in any competitive activity there is. He also loves playing video games, reading books, and arguing with strangers over the internet.
